System Support...Modern Systems 1985-2007

In the mid-late 1980’s, Touch-Plate dramatically changed the makeup of their relay panels by using printed circuit boards. The use of printed circuit boards allowed for simpler wiring and opened the door for the inclusion of additional control features such as Grouping, Momentary/Maintain functions, and Master ON/OFF. The 3000-PL relay was also introduced in this time period which included a plug-able low voltage connection and screw terminals for the line voltage wires (eliminating the need for wire nuts).

In the 1990’s, Touch-Plate introduced the MCP series which was the first computer controlled lighting system available. This was a dramatic change to lighting control, allowing lighting schedules to be programmed from a PC. Dimming also became available through the MCP and CPD dimmer panels.
