Have your lights stopped working? No longer hearing the soft “thunk” of your lights toggling on and off? These are signs that you might have a worn-out relay! Touch Plate’s 3000 Relay is a 2-Wire Low-Voltage Relay. The cylindrical relay is directly mounted to the switching block and 7” wires extend from the top.
The 20 Amp 3000 relay is a mechanically latching relay utilizing “Contact Closure” low- voltage switch technology. The relay only switches directly ON/OFF, this feature is technically known as “Single Pole, Single Throw” (SPST).
3000 Relay is a direct replacement for part number(s): 1550-A, 1550-B, 2500-B, & 4000.
(there is a difference in the size of the switching block (base) with the older models)
Previous generation relays had 4 wires, 2 low-voltage wires extruding from the top of the cylinder which connected to the switches and transverter and 2 wires extending from the bottom that connected to line-voltage.
The 3000 Relay. You can mount the line-voltage feed wires into the screw terminals on the switching block. The 2 attached wires are still connected to your switch.
Note: The line-voltage terminals are not polarized. It does not matter which terminal you feed your line-voltage into.
