beginning the upgrade process...

Why Upgrade? Here's What Others Say:

"Having the lighting system upgraded and operating with assurance brings tremendous peace of mind to our parents. It might seem silly to be attached to such a system but this is part of our family history like so many things in the house. Now with our parents so old and their health so frail, it is nice to have them not having to worry that things will work the way they need them to."
Dave

Ken

Greg

"I wish I had known about this product several years ago!"
Allen
Downey, CA
"[It] looks intimidating but [it] isn't real difficult. [I] wish I would have done it years ago."
Mark
Beaver Falls, PA
"I am very happy with how it works. My wife and I are smiling again!"
Brian

"Do it now! I was very concerned about the future problems that will come up when I try to sell my house. The old system would have shocked a home inspector and turned away buyers. By doing the upgrade now, I can enjoy the new system while I am still living here."
Jon
Glendale, WI
"Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it now. It's worth it. You will be happy and feel confident with your home."
Robin

Make a count of the existing relays in the system. Looking in the existing panel, there will most likely be three items: 1550/2500 relays, PL-6/TPS-2001 pilot light transformers, and TVR-1/TPS-0120 transverter. The important factor is the number of RELAYS, and the number of relay panel locations. The correct count of relays and locations must be obtained to properly upgrade a system.

Note if PL-6 transformers are among the relays. If pilot light transformers are included, an upgrade option with LED control must be chosen.

Consider the existing enclosure. Is it possible for the existing enclosure to be reused? If this is desired, take interior dimensions of the existing enclosures to validate the spacing for the new relay boards.

Pinpoint the features that are desired.

  • Basic On/Off Control
  • Timing Control
  • Dimming Control
  • Grouping
  • Scene Setting
  • Sequencing
  • Use of advanced control stations (2-Wire-NPTF Switches, Smart Switches, or Radio Frequency)
  • Lighting control through the internet (i.e. with an iPhone/Blackberry)

With features and benefits in mind, consider the relay and dimming panel offerings to choose the system that is the best fit. Contact the factory with any questions.

If you have questions regarding an upgrade, feel free to contact us. Emailing digital pictures of your existing system is very helpful.
